Hello friends and welcome to another Chipping Chewsday, innit? For our second tip today we’re going to build off of our first tip from last Tuesday. Everything we do in our short game setup when we’re taking those short swings is to help us make absolutely certain that we’re hitting down and hitting the ball first. So in addition to keeping our weight forward like in our first tip, we need to keep the ball as far back as the shot allows. What I mean by that is if you’re not trying to hit a sky high flop shot, that ball should probably be way further back in your stance than you’re playing. Almost every short swing that we take, the ball is going to be much closer to our back foot than our front. Most of the time, in fact, it should be played right off of your back foot. If you have a 60 or 56 or higher lofted wedge in your hands, the loft will do the work for you. There’s nothing you need to do to help put that ball in the air. The only thing we need to concentrate on is hitting the ball first, and with our weight forward, the ball in the back of our stance, the club face pointed where we want it to go, I promise the club will do the rest of the work. Be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the Green Grass Golf Shop for the rest of those tips. We’ll see you next Chewsday!
