Hello friends, it’s Chippin’ Chewsday, innit?! How do you break 100, 90, 80? It’s not more pars, birdies, and eagles, it’s fewer quads, triples, and doubles. If you want to do that, the ground is always your friend. You’re 15, 20, 30 yards away from the green with just fairway, no massively elevated green, bunker, or water in the way, I guarantee if you take out your 9, 8, or 7 iron and take a long putting stroke with that, your absolute worst result will be at least one, if not two to three strokes better than your worst 60 or 56 degree wedge shot. Not having to worry about hitting a specific landing spot, making perfect contact with the golf ball makes this shot, dropping those lost strokes so easy. The easiest wasted shots to eliminate from your game are the ones around the green, taking second and third chips, when you can easily put the first one on for a putt. Set up with your feet together, ball back in your stance, stand tall with the toe down, putting grip, putting stroke. Change your distances with the club in your hand. Longer irons for longer chip shots, shorter ones for short chips, and be sure to like and subscribe for the next tip next Chewsday. We’ll see you on the course.

I’m Coach Matt

Welcome to The Green Grass Golf Shop, your one-stop shop for all the most comprehensive golf instruction, swing drills, swing training aids and maybe a little golf content. My goal here is to let everyone in on the secret that most internet and Instagram golf pros don’t tell you, that the video you’re watching is not for everyone, and that nobody should be taking instruction from anyone who can’t see your swing and tell you what you need for your unique swing motion and body mechanics. This is why the most important part of what we offer here is 1-on-1 private video swing instruction, to help you make sure you’re practicing what you need to practice, only watching the videos and getting the help your unique body needs to play your best golf. Check us out with a free video swing analysis to see if virtual lessons are right for you!
