Hello friends, it’s Chippin’ Chewsday, innit? Now just because there’s snow on the ground doesn’t mean we can’t practice our chipping. We’ve got a great drill for you here. I call this one, Keep the Change. So reach out to your sweet grandmother for one of your nickels out of your old piggy bank. And all we’re going to do here is take a nickel, replace your ball with that nickel in your normal chipping setup. You can do this inside, outside, anywhere you either have carpet, turf, or even a golf towel. It does work best on nice high pile carpet, though, that’s why I have this here. Anything with some decent cushion to it replicate the turf that you play on. A nickel works best both for the thickness of the coin and the sharper, less rounded edges than quarters. But all we’re going to do is try to make clean contact with this nickel here. As small as this coin is, your margin for error is razor thin. You have to make perfect contact to get that coin to jump like the golf ball like we did there. So if you can do that with regularity it will make the golf ball much easier to hit in comparison. Be sure to like and subscribe for the next tip next Chewsday, we’ll see you on the course!
