Hello friends, it’s Chippin’ Chewsday, innit?! We’re back with more indoor tips to help you practice through the winter with the most important club in anyone’s bag. Barring a chip-in, the putter is the only club that you’re guaranteed to use on every single hole you play. To break it down most simply, putting is just a combination of rolling the golf ball a certain distance in a certain direction, with one of those being more important by a wide margin. See, it’s a thousand times easier to leave a putt five feet short or long than it is to miss five feet left or right. Distance control is by far the more important part of that equation, and how you control your distance with your putting should be the same way we are with our full swings, the length of our stroke. It’s a whole lot easier to determine how far a putt goes with certain stroke lengths and trying to put the same force into the stroke than it is trying to feel different stroke speeds or different power levels for each length of putt. This is one incredible way, if you aren’t already doing so, to take the immeasurables out of your swing and give you a more repeatable motion that can immensely help you shave those strokes, make more putts, and more importantly, eliminate those three-putts. Be sure to like and subscribe for the next tip next Chewsday, and we’ll see you on the course!

I’m Coach Matt

Welcome to The Green Grass Golf Shop, your one-stop shop for all the most comprehensive golf instruction, swing drills, swing training aids and maybe a little golf content. My goal here is to let everyone in on the secret that most internet and Instagram golf pros don’t tell you, that the video you’re watching is not for everyone, and that nobody should be taking instruction from anyone who can’t see your swing and tell you what you need for your unique swing motion and body mechanics. This is why the most important part of what we offer here is 1-on-1 private video swing instruction, to help you make sure you’re practicing what you need to practice, only watching the videos and getting the help your unique body needs to play your best golf. Check us out with a free video swing analysis to see if virtual lessons are right for you!
